Werner De Caro was born in 1945 near Augsburg, West Germany   

His family emigrated to the United States while he was still quite young. After completing his secondary education, De Caro studied art in San Francisco 

In 1962, while he was still a teenager, the United States Senate gave him singular recognition with an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Art." In the 1960's, De Caro returned to Europe to further refine his artistic skills.

De Caro has received many awards from various exhibitions in the United States. He has been acknowledged for his achievements in creating a very special classic style of realistic still life art reminiscent of the old masters.

De Caro's distinctive still lifes can be found in major galleries throughout Europe and in collections in Europe, Japan, and the United States
